The stepped pyramid at Chichen Itza doesn't look all that
tall from the ground, but when you're coming down... SCARY!

When missionaries first arrived in this location, there were
about 100 poles in a square with about 25 skulls on each pole!
A drain hole cut out of solid rock for the blood from the
severed heads to drain into.
They may have cut off hundreds of thousands of people's
heads, but they sure can grow pretty flowers.
